Introduction

Wyndham Trenython Manor is set on a 24 acre estate with 22 en-suite bedrooms and 37 self-catering lodges, situated on the outskirts of the village of Tywardreath and 2 miles from the ancient port of Fowey.

There are no ground floor rooms in the hotel and we do not have a lift however all lodges are on one level with most them being wheelchair accessible. Please inform us at the reservation stage if you require wheelchair access.

All lodges are equipped with walk in showers and we can supply shower chairs at the request of our guests.

You can reach Wyndham Trenython Manor by the following means of transport:

Train: The nearest train station is Par which is located 2 miles from the resort; it is a 5 minute car journey from there to Wyndham Trenython Manor.
Air travel: Newquay airport is the nearest and is a 40 minute journey by taxi or car hire.
Car hire: Car hire is available from Newquay airport or local towns St Austell and Bodmin, this would need arranging prior to arrival to ensure availability.
Bus: The nearest bus stop, Castle Dore, is at the end of the driveway, Western Greyhound’s 524 & 525 service runs from Fowey to St Austell bus station.
Collection service: We can pre-arrange taxi collections for guests on request.

Distance to nearest towns:
Fowey: 2 miles from the resort, we advise guests not to walk this due to the narrow country roads.
St Austell: 5 miles from the resort.
Bus: 6 minutes to Fowey, 45 minutes to St Austell. Western Greyhound operates services between Fowey and St Austell, service numbers 524 and 525. From St Austell Bus Station connecting buses operate to other locations in Cornwall. This service runs every hour and the last bus leaves Fowey 2310 hrs.
Taxi: The taxi company that we advise for wheelchair user customers is Yeos taxis which can be contacted on 01726 814095.

Equipment Hire Services
We can arrange for equipment to be hired for guests with disabilities on request, or guests can contact the provider by phone to book or enquire. Payment is required on delivery.

Wheelchairs, Commodes, Mobility items, Bathing aids and much more are available to be delivered or collected by guests for short term loans.

Facilities

All our bedrooms are en-suite and are on the first and second floor of the hotel. Please note that there is not a lift in the hotel to access these floors. There are 30 steps to the 1st floor and a further 21 steps to the 2nd.

The Restaurant, Reception, Bar and Guest Lounge are all situated on the ground floor of the hotel and are accessible by wheelchair users. Toilets are located on the ground floor but wheelchair users would require the use of the disabled facilities in the Leisure Club.
All lodges are on one level with wide access and walk in showers.
All hotel bedrooms and lodges have a telephone landline, so that assistance can be summoned 24 hours a day if necessary.
Our restaurant is pleased to assist those on special diets or with food allergies, eg: Celiacs /Coeliacs, nuts etc. Please let us know at the time of booking that you will require a special diet, and we will inform the kitchen.

We use clear text where possible but for the partially sighted we are pleased to provide large print versions of our menu, Welcome Newsletter, Guest Information Folder or other literature that may be of interest. Please contact us if you have specific requirements so that we can ensure your stay is comfortable.

Recycling

Do you Recycle?
YES and we would encourage you to support Wyndham Green, a Wyndham efficiency and green practice program by recycling your household waste.
Please use the bags provided in your kitchen cupboard to separate plastics (yellow), paper and cardboard (blue) and general waste (black).
These separate bags can then be deposited in our communal recycling points clearly marked in resort.

What other Green Initiatives do you have?
We have the Linen Reuse Program.
Join us on our Green journey by choosing to reuse your towels and linen during your stay. Here at Wyndham Trenython Manor, in an effort to cut down on cleaning chemicals and water consumption, we will change your towels midweek. We use approved Ecolab cleaning products and are working to reduce our impact on the planet by adapting more environmentally friendly service levels.

Pet policy

Most of our standard lodges are dog friendly please, advise when booking if your require a dog friendly lodge. Registered guide and support dogs belonging to those with visual and hearing impairments are allowed in all properties featured. Customers with allergies should be aware that we cannot guarantee that a registered guide and/or support dog has not stayed in their chosen property nor can we accept any liability for any suffering which may occur as a result of such animals having been present.

In case of emergency

We ask guests to advise us on any problems they may have in the event of an emergency evacuation, and please be assured that all members of staff will be advised of any assistance required in the event of an emergency.

Car Parking and Arrival

Guests and visitors can access the Resort from Castledore Road.

At the end of the driveway there is a gravel car park which has a gradual slope to it. There is space for approximately 35 cars, parking bays are not painted. This car park is well lit at night and is 60 metres from the hotel main entrance.

There is a drop off point at the front of the hotel and also space for 10 cars including a dedicated and specifically marked disabled bay which is on the same level as the entrance. All lodges have parking spaces attached.
We can assist with luggage and car parking upon request 24 hours a day.
We operate a 10mph speed limit on the resort. This is indicated by speed ramps and clear signage.

Main Entrance and Reception

Entry to the hotel is through two large heavy wooden doors opening inwards and measuring 28 inches each or 56 inches in total. Wheelchair users would require both doors to be open. There is a doorbell next to the disabled parking which would alert Reception for assistance with access, alternatively call the hotels reception on 01726 814797.

Reception is on the ground floor and has level access throughout. The floor surface in the main entrance is tiled and the Reception/Welcome Area has a short pile carpet with teak wooden flooring around the Reception desk and going through into the bar. The Bar seating area and Guest Lounge are carpeted.

Seating is available in the main entrance and Reception/Welcome Area also. There are large open spaces between furniture throughout the ground floor and doorways measure 42 inches, these doors are always open.
The area is evenly and well lit with overhead lighting and wall lights.

The Reception desk stands 45 inches tall and does not have a lower desk for wheelchair users. There are alternative spaces within the hotel which can be used for check if required.

Unfortunately we do not have a hearing loop available.
Please inform Receptionists on check in if assistance is required in the event of an evacuation.
We try where ever possible to produce large print versions of our literature.
If required, we can provide pens and paper from Reception to assist guests.
We are happy to provide a familiarisation tour of the resort upon request.

Reception is available from 8am to 10pm to assist. Night porters are available outside of these hours.

Public Areas

Bar and Guest Lounge
The Bar and Guest Lounge area is situated on the ground floor with level entry from the reception and main entrance area. The door width is 42 inches to the Bar and 33 inches to the Guest Lounge.

These rooms have a mixture of seating with sofas and soft chairs with and without arms as well as some stools, together with low and high coffee tables.
Lighting is natural daylight and by night levels are controlled by dimmer switches, with overhead and wall lighting used as well as table lamps around the room. Candles are lit on tables.
The flooring is short pile carpet in the Guest Lounge and seating area of the Bar with teak wooden floor around the Bar serving area.
The nearest toilets are in the Reception area. Please note that disabled toilets are located in the Leisure Club.

Restaurant
The restaurant is situated on the ground floor with level entry from the reception and main entrance area and has level access throughout. The door width is 42 inches. Tables in the restaurant are fairly spaced apart, with a clear height from the floor of 29 inches. Tables are not fixed so can be moved to accommodate guests’ requirements. All chairs have arms.

Lighting is natural daylight and by night levels are controlled by dimmer switches, with overhead and wall lighting. The flooring is short pile carpet throughout.
We do our best to cater for any dietary requirements; please contact us in advance with any specific requests. Where possible all our food produce is locally sourced.

The restaurant is table service for dinner. Hot food is served directly from the kitchen.
Large print menus are available. All staff can assist by running through menus with you.
Crockery is colour contrasted with the table where possible.
The nearest toilets are located in the Reception area and accessible toilets are in the Leisure Club.

Accommodation
There are 37 ground floor lodges, most of which are wheelchair accessible. They can be reached via step free access from their allocated parking space. None of our lodges are fitted with hand rails.

External doors measure a minimum of 31 inches wide, Internal doors measure 26 inches or 31 inches depending on lodge/room type. All doors are light and easy to open.
In each room the transfer space is a minimum of 27 inches on one side of the beds.
The height of the beds from the floor to the top of the mattress is a minimum of 18 inches up to 23 inches depending on lodge/room type.
Dining tables measure 29 inches high and work surfaces are 35 inches high.
Rooms are bright and evenly lit. Overhead and wall lighting is used. There are also bedside and table lamps in each room. Additional reading lamps are available on request.

Lodges and all bedrooms in the hotel, offer the following: Lighting as above, good colour contrast between the floor, walls and doors, a mix of both wooden floorboards and short pile carpet, all bedding is non-feather, widescreen digital television with remote control, subtitles, and audio description facilities.
